Ellie (Bella Ramsey) has been a mystery since she first met Joel (Pedro Pascal). Last of Us]Opening episode. There’s obviously the issue of full immunity, but there’s also that of her obscure origin story. This was learned only in fragments through Joel’s occasional complaining questions.
Until episode 7, that is.
The Last of Us Episode 7: How Ellie’s Cassette Tapes Return to the Game
Done almost entirely as flashbacks, the seventh installment of the show sees Ellie spend a wild (and ultimately tragic) night in an abandoned shopping mall with her best friend Riley (Storm Reid). After that, I introduced Ellie’s time at the FEDRA Training School.
However, we do get a glimpse of Ellie’s bedroom before she and Riley disappear into the night through the window. Here are some throwbacks to what I mentioned.
From space posters to comics and joke books, we’ve categorized everything below.
Ellie’s joke book is on her bedside table.
classic first volume no pun In one of the opening shots of Ellie’s room, a joke book by fictional author Will Livingston can be seen lying on Ellie’s bedside table. Of course, at this point we are familiar with Mr. Livingston’s work. No pun intended: volume tooEllie carries it around in her backpack. However, it is only in episode 7 that we learn that she got this second volume from Riley as a gift.
Will Livingston is a gift that keeps on giving.

“Shut up! Did he make a second one?” Ellie says after Riley creates the book. “Where did you get that?”
Riley doesn’t answer, but we know the book will remain Ellie’s prized possession from that moment on. It is a memory of her old life, of her best friend and her first love.
Ellie is reading a familiar comic book.
Ellie sat on the bed and glanced at Riley’s empty mattress, savage starlightHowever, this isn’t the first time the cartoon has been mentioned. Back in Episode 5, when Ellie, Joel, Henry (Lamar Johnson), and Sam (Kevon Woodard) make their way through a tunnel trying to escape Kansas City, the earlier pauses in an abandoned room. Children’s playground or kindergarten.

Sam discovers the following problem. savage starlight in the room. What is Ellie’s reaction? “No way, I love it!” The two then compare which problems they have before signing some of the comic’s key catchphrases (“endure and survive”).
Later, at the end of the episode, they sit in bed together and read the problem before everything goes terribly wrong.
Ellie’s walls are covered in cosmic posters.
A close-up shot of Ellie reading in bed shows her walls plastered with posters. Quite a few of these are space-themed. There are some movie stuff, including the 2000 movie poster red planet and the 1987 movie internal spaceand a breakdown of the lunar phases of the moon.
This last episode in particular links to the fireside conversation between Joel and Ellie in episode six. Joel says he wants to run a sheep farm, but when he asks Ellie where he’s going, she looks up at the night sky.

“Maybe it’s because I grew up in QZ,” she says. “There’s an ocean behind you and a wall in front of you. You can’t help but look up. I read everything I could read in the school library. Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Jim Lovell. But… Who is my favourite?”
“Sally Ride?” Joel asks.
“Sally fucking ride,” confirms Ellie. “The name of the greatest astronaut of all time”
Clearly, Ellie is a huge fan of the universe, but the shot of her room we got in Episode 7 shows just how much of a fan she really is.
Ellie is Mortal Kombat II poster.
In the middle of it, Ellie’s Mortal Kombat II The poster will take pride of place on your wall. Her 1993 arcade fighting game at Midway makes several appearances during the series, especially later in the episode when Riley tells Ellie that she is “the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” The place where I showed the arcade of is remarkable. The pair mash buttons and destroy each other. The show flashes back to this moment in episode 3, when Ellie and Joel are on their way to Bill and Frank’s house. Ellie stops at a gas station to buy supplies for Joel. Mortal Kombat II An arcade game that collects dust.
“Have you played with this?” Ellie asks Joel. “I had a friend who knew everything about this game.”
