LA-based e-mobility company Splach is returning to Indiegogo next month with a moto-inspired Class 3 ebike. The Cross has full suspension and air-filled fat tires, a 1 kW peak motor and dual batteries for 125 miles.
Splach’s successful crowdfunded micromobility effort so far has consisted of mighty electric kickscoots, e-bikes and weird mashups, but now the company is working with Super73, Vintage, Ride1Up and more. , with retro moto-style rides incorporating the latest in e-bike technology.
The Cross takes its inspiration from cafe racer bikes and also features an onboard simulator with four engine revs. Powering the Beast is a 1,000-watt 750 W Bafang rear hub motor that produces 85 Nm (62.6 lb.ft) of torque to tackle inclines up to 30%.
Riders can choose between pedal assist or throttle only, a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), and a Shimano 7-speed gearset for added ride flexibility. Dual removable batteries provide a range of up to 125 miles (200+ km) on a single charge.
