$150 for 2TB is a bargain
SSTC is a Vietnam-based computer retailer that has started appearing on Amazon, and TweakTown had a chance to review the Hammerhead E18 NVMe 1.4 PCIe 4.0 SSD. The controller is the well-known Phison E18 in the name, and the cost savings comes from the media-grade flash, his Micron B47R TLC. Surprisingly, you can actually get DDR4 cache at this price point, but TweakTown doesn’t specify how much.
The drive is rated at 1600 TBW and comes with a 3 year warranty. It’s not the best in business, but it’s affordable at less than 10 cents per gigabyte. As for performance, the drive advertises 7,400MB/s random read and he 7,000MB/s write, and benchmarks show it to be accurate.
