With all the announcements being made at MWC in Barcelona this week, we didn’t want anything left out of the media spotlight, so we’ve launched a teaser campaign for the upcoming phone (2) in earnest.
It’s a strategy Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, loves and has adopted many times before, including at OnePlus before he founded Nothing, so we’ll likely hear a little bit more about the new device in the coming weeks or months. It all starts with the chipset. Nothing Phone (2) uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 series.

Unfortunately, the company didn’t go into any further details. Like many flagship Android devices coming this year, it’s natural to assume that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be on the Nothing Phone (2).
The Nothing Phone (2) will launch in the US according to Carl Pei himself, and is expected to launch in the third quarter of this year, i.e. between July and September. If that launch window doesn’t work out, you might be able to use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 if it exists.
We’ve already heard that the phones (2) will be high-end, unlike the mid-range phones (1), so this news isn’t all that surprising. Will it be an all-out flagship competing with the world’s Galaxy S23 Ultras, or will he of the world be a “flagship killer” competing with the OnePlus 11s?
Let’s wait and see. Previous rumors suggested the upcoming device would come with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 120Hz OLED display and a 5,000mAh battery. We’d love to know if the transparent back design will be retained, alongside the Glyph LEDs.
