Ulefone is a popular brand for its rugged devices, and we visited the company’s booth to see its latest behemoth, the Armor 23 Ultra.
This smartphone packs a massive battery, a powerful camera and a flagship tier chipset. The most impressive thing about it is the under-display selfie camera, making it the first fully rugged phone with such a feature. I was proud to announce that This makes the device extremely useful in difficult out-of-the-way situations.
All the Ulefones we’ve dealt with are heavy devices and the Armor 23 Ultra is well aware of this feature. It’s heavier than a phone, but definitely on the lighter side compared to other Armor products.
When it comes to the chipset, it’s not the only top spec. At 6.67 inches, his AMOLED screen features Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, and more importantly, it lacks the giant bezels we’re used to seeing on rugged phones. It has 1 TB of storage and also has 16 GB of RAM, which can be artificially expanded up to 8 GB.

The trio of cameras are arranged vertically – the main 108 MP in the middle, the 64 MP ultra-wide angle above, and the 64 MP periscope telephoto camera below. This is very similar to what Samsung has implemented in the last few of his Ultra devices, and the similarity in names is probably no coincidence.

The selfie camera is only 16 MP and is hidden under the panel, making for a smooth browsing and content streaming experience. It was certainly fun to have the camera hidden behind an OLED.
While we weren’t able to test battery life or phone performance, the company says the 7,000 mAh battery will support 120 W fast charging. This makes the Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra one of the best IP68 certified MIL-STD-810H rated flagships it can beat.
