$10 if you already own everything, more if you don’t
The Outer Worlds release had a lot of hype and was a fun blast, but for many it didn’t live up to expectations. For one thing, reaching a certain level and collecting some good weapons inspired me to take a short walk through the park. In the upcoming The Outer Worlds Spacer’s Choice Edition, you’ll be able to reach level 99, which can do terrible things to game balance.
Spacer’s Choice Edition, like the upgraded Witcher 3, offers improved graphics in addition to getting all DLC at once. You’ll see improved explosions, weapon skins, better environments and particles, and dynamic wind, cloud, and sandstorm effects. There are also new NPC animations that might help ease the drudgery of the space station.
Improvements come at a cost apart from the price, as hardware requirements have proliferated significantly. Minimum recommendations include a GTX 1060 6 GB or Radeon RX 590 paired with a Core i7 6700 or Ryzen 5 1600. If you want to hit the recommended specs, we recommend an RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 6700 XT with an i7-8700. OR AMD Ryzen 5 3600. You should also make sure you have 16GB of RAM installed.
The game drops on March 7th. At this point, you have a better idea of the pricing to $60 for not owning the game at all, apart from the $10 upgrade for owning all the DLC.
