Snapchat will now let you pause your Snap Streaks

Maintaining a Snap streak that sends Snaps to your friends every 24 hours is very important for many Snapchat users. Taking advantage of that fact, the company is now allowing users to pause their Snapstreaks, so they don’t have to worry about breaking their Snapstreaks if they decide not to access the app for a while.

Snapchat allows users to pause only once in a row for free during this testing phase.

“Losing a snap streak doesn’t mean our friendship has cooled, so we’re making it easier to take a break with a new feature we’re testing starting today, reignite your spark and get 1 free streak. We’ll be able to restore it, just one tap away,” the company said in an announcement.

According to the company, users will have the “option to add Streak Restores directly from the app,” which will cost 99 cents per pause in the US. Snap also said it would soon roll out a feature for Snapchat+ users to freeze their streaks. So basically, people have to pay one way or the other to maintain their streak.

Last month, the social network added a chatbot to its paid plans powered by OpenAI’s GPT technology.

At its Investor Day event in February, Snap said it now has over 750 million monthly active users and over 2.5 million paying users. At the same time, we also made an announcement for creators and developers. The company says the developer has introduced Ray his tracing technology to create lenses with realistic effects. In addition, we have rolled out features that make it easier for creators to use sounds licensed to Snap.
