Recently, a series of interesting sample photos appeared on WeChat Moments, accompanied by the gibberish caption, “New phone takes great photos.” These are courtesy of Huawei Terminal BG of Huawei Smart Devices and his COO He Gang. The photos were apparently taken during MWC 2023 and our sources speculate that these are from the unannounced Huawei P60 Pro.

In a related development, industry insider Digital Chat Station recently shared details about the new telephoto camera in the upcoming Huawei P60 Pro. Apparently, this is his 64MP snapper from OmniVision (OV64B), which has a 3.5x optical zoom factor and, most interestingly, uses the RYYB pixel arrangement. Apparently, by swapping out the two green pixels for yellow pixels, the sensor captures more light, improving its nighttime capabilities by up to 40%.

According to Digital Chat Station, the new camera is backed up by some serious camera algorithms, possibly including a clever aperture adjustment for portrait photography.
As far as we currently know, the Huawei P60 Pro will rock a 50MP Sony IMX888 main camera and a 50MP Sony IMX858 ultrawide, along with a new 64MP telephoto. Includes a limited Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It also has a 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1440p resolution, IP68 intrusion protection, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The Huawei P60 series is said to arrive in March.
