If you’ve ever wanted to chat with your favorite celebrity, AI makes it possible. Well, hey.
Bing’s AI chatbot has an incognito mode that lets you impersonate celebrities. I’ve tested it here on Mashable, and it’s neat, but I wouldn’t say it’s mistaken for a real-life chat with a celebrity — it’s akin to AOL’s Smarterchild.(opens in new tab) You will come across the Wikipedia page. Still, it’s kind of cool if that’s your thing.
At first, it took a bit of effort to get Bing AI into celebrity mode, but eventually my colleague Cecily Mauran just asked if it could be put into celebrity mode and it worked. When asked to impersonate Morgan Freeman — because, as you know, all impressionists do Morgan Freeman — he basically enumerated some basic facts about his life. Then a reasonable facsimile of the speech given by Freeman was made, albeit without the heaviness of his voice. We were chatting.

Honestly, it’s a bad-but-good, robot-like version of “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” except it’s all about chicken wings.

Not really a great song.

But it’s not the worst song either.

Admittedly, I didn’t chat with the heroes, but it’s kind of nice nonetheless. To be honest, it’s not that different from when I asked ChatGPT to write a song about Buffalo Wild Wings in the style of Jimmy Buffett.
