The OnePlus Nord 2V was announced today and took the spotlight, but the company also announced a new pair of TWS buds, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Lite.
They are currently available for pre-order in China at RMB 750, and will rise to RMB 800 when regular sales begin at 10am local time on March 13th. This is slightly cheaper than the original Buds Pro 2, which launched at 900 yuan in January this year.
So what are these bud “lights”? Not by design, they look exactly like the original Pro. That being said, the white option is new and the green option is not available.The Lite is only available in white or black.The bud is IP55 rated, so it can withstand rain and sweat.
The buds have active noise cancellation, just like the regular Pro, which lets you tune out 48dB of external noise. Each earbud has three microphones that can also be used for noise cancellation during calls.
The Buds Pro 2 Lite are ready for high-res audio wireless streaming and feature audio tuning by Dynaudio and the legendary Hans Zimmer. For gaming, the earbuds have a special 54ms low latency mode.
Battery life is no different. With 60mAh inside each earbud he is enough for 9 hours of continuous playback. 520mAh in the carrying case gives a total of 39 hours of listening time. Note that these numbers have ANC disabled. If you want noise cancellation, you get 6 hours of continuous listening time, for a total of 25 hours.
OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Lite black and white
The connection is basically the same as the original. Lite Buds launch with support for LHDC 5.0, which can provide up to 1Mbps bandwidth. The original Pro will get LHDC 5.0 as an update (released in v4.0).
The only thing missing is support for Qi wireless charging and head tracking (although spatial audio is still supported).
If you’re wondering if the OnePlus Buds 2 Pro will be available worldwide, you’re wondering the same (but no word on that yet). Note that the original Pro has dropped in price since its launch, so the 100 RMB difference is close to zero.
