There are so many things you can finally access on your Galaxy Watch 4 thanks to Google Play. Gboard for improved voice input, a wide range of apps and watch faces, and Google Wallet for Wear OS. Samsung Pay itself is fine, but Google Wallet is more widely used and already has card details from Google Play purchases, possibly including yours. This makes setting up Google Pay on your Galaxy Watch 4 super easy.
How to set up Google Pay on Samsung Galaxy Watch 4
As a warning, you need a clock lock screen to use Google Wallet. This is the same as needing a lock screen when using it on a smartphone. As such, you should only unlock your watch when you put it back on your wrist after taking it off for charging, showering, or other non-essential activities (e.g. eviscerating pumpkins, dressing turkey, etc.).
1. Google Play store on Galaxy Watch 4.
2. Tap . search icon at the top of the screen.
3. Enter Google Wallet and search.
4. From the list of apps, find and tap Google Wallet.
5. Tap . install button.
Once the new and improved Google Wallet app is installed on your Galaxy Watch 4, you need to set everything up properly. Includes adding cards that you plan to use in
1. On Galaxy Watch 4, swipe up Show app drawer.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the list of apps and tap Google Wallet icon.
3. Tap . check mark.
4. Select Pattern or PIN for Lock Type.
5. If Google Pay is already set up on your phone, your card will be automatically imported and you’re done. If you need to manually enter your card, tap the plus icon.
6. Tap . check mark Continue on the connected phone.
7. With Google Wallet open on the connected phone, Continue button.
8. Select any card in Google Wallet to add it to your watch.You can also tap + new credit or debit card If you want to add and use another card.
9. If you select an existing card, enter the CVV code when prompted.
10. Tap . Continue button.
11. approval Issuer Terms.
12. To verify your identity, you must have one of the following: Sign in to your banking app Also call the bank. Select an option and tap Continue.
13. Once the card and identity verification is complete, Continue button.
Now everything is set and the card is added to your watch. However, unlike Samsung Pay, Google Wallet doesn’t have a dedicated button to open it, so if you want easier access, set up Google Wallet as a double-click shortcut. Even if you use another app, Google Wallet is always just a click away.
What cards can I use with Google Wallet on Wear OS?
We wish all the cards we put in Google Wallet could be used on our wrists, but unfortunately not. Google Wallet on Wear OS currently supports debit and credit cards, but not boarding passes, public transit cards, or Walt Disney World annual passes. Also, PayPal is not available.
Hopefully Google Wallet for Wear OS will eventually be upgraded to support these — Apple Pay handles them easily — but at least I don’t have to dig out my phone every time. You can even pay with your wrist.
