As is usually the case with Google’s products, leaks often reveal the entire device months before its release. The next mid-range Pixel smartphone, the 7a, will likely arrive just before summer, as his Pixel 6a was announced last May, but we already have a lot of information.
Alleged Pixel 7a
The latest leak contains live photos and some specs of the alleged 7a. Expectations point to a 6.1-inch, 1080p, 90Hz OLED panel, Google’s Tensor G2 SoC (the flagship chipset for 2022), and UFS 3.1 storage.
The rear camera configuration consists of a 64MP Sony IMX787 main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. The former could be a significant upgrade to his 12.2MP unit on the Pixel 6a.
Perhaps most interestingly, the phone is designed to support basic 5W wireless charging. With a decent ultra-wide and powerful SoC and wireless charging in the mid-range segment, the Pixel 7a makes a great all-rounder, as long as the price is right, of course.
