There are many electric skateboards on the market today, but almost all of them are controlled by handheld remote controls. However, his JCR board, made in China, is controlled by shifting his weight, leaving both hands free.
First announced several years ago, JCR is now the subject of an Indiegogo campaign. The device utilizes integrated sensors to detect when (and how much) the rider leans forward or backward.
Needless to say, leaning forward increases speed, accelerating up to 24 km/h (15 mph), and leaning back slows it down. The board will automatically stop if the rider jumps or falls. According to the designers, this setup not only frees the rider’s hands from the radio remote control (which can be lost or damaged), but is also more intuitive and easier to learn.
JCR board
The board itself features a laminated Canadian maple deck, front and rear LED lights, a brushless hub motor, rubber-tired wheels, and a set of 36V/4.4Ah Samsung 18650 Li-Ion batteries. Suitable for a range of 11 miles (18 km). The entire rig reportedly allows him to tip the scales at 14 pounds (6.4 kg) and support a maximum rider weight of 280 pounds (127 kg).
Additionally, all electronic components are IP54 water resistant, meaning they can withstand water splashes from all directions.

This isn’t the first “weight-controlled” electric skateboard we’ve seen, but two of the most famous previous efforts, the Starkboard and ZBoard, don’t seem to be available anymore.
