All-open source 7-inch MNT Reform Pocket laptop starts at $899, ships in October

The creators of the fully open-source MNT Reform laptop are close to launching a handheld version. A crowdfunding campaign for the 7-inch MNT Pocket Reform has officially launched, also acting as a de facto pre-order system for the device. Pocket Reform’s cheapest version starts at $899, with the purple version at $969 or the bundled 1 TB SSD, carrying case, handbook, and poster for $1,299. Crowdfunded hardware projects are pretty spotty in terms of actually shipping products, but MNT used essentially the same funding strategy for its full-size reinvention in 2018.
