Just days after Google pushed the stable QPR2 build to Pixel phones with the March 2023 feature drop, the company has released the first beta of QPR3.
As usual, a new beta build, QPR3 Beta 1 (T3B1.230224.005) contains a number of bug fixes. Google’s release notes don’t highlight any features, but builds usually hint at upcoming features, and there should be some. This build also includes the March 2023 update.
Below is the complete list of bug fixes.
- Fixed an issue where the lock screen clock text had the wrong color.
- Fixed an issue where Bluetooth audio was not working on some devices.
- Fixed an issue where the fingerprint icon normally displayed on the screen to indicate the location of the fingerprint sensor was incorrectly changed to an exclamation point (!).
- Fixed an issue where live wallpapers could not be selected or used.
- Fixed an issue where home screen widgets, app icon positions, and other configurable options were reset after installing an OTA update.
- Fixed an issue that caused devices to unenroll from Face Unlock after installing an OTA update.
Mishaal Rahman spotted some new features in QPR3 Beta 1, including the option to only show new notifications on the lock screen. This setting will remove existing notifications from the lock screen every time the phone is unlocked.
That said, Rahman said much of what’s included in the build will still be seen in Android 14 Developer Preview 2.

Users still registered for Android 13 Beta can check out the new QPR3 builds by navigating to: Settings > System > System UpdateEligible devices include Pixel phones from Pixel 4a to Pixel 7 Pro.
Google also reminds users via an Android Beta Reddit post that anyone looking to exit the beta program without wiping their phone can do so even if QPR3 is pushed to the device. Do not install any new updates, opt out of the program and wait until stable his March 2023 update appears on your phone.
