Emergency, weather and amber alerts are important services delivered through your smartphone. These can notify you of pending emergencies such as major snowstorms or other weather-related incidents, assailants on the run, or kidnapped or missing children. However, there may be times when you want to disable them. This may be because you are out of the country on vacation or on business and want to temporarily turn off your messages.
How to enable or disable emergency, weather and amber alerts on your Android phone
1. go to setting on your Android device.
2. go to notification.
3. Scroll down to wireless emergency alert Select.
4. Under Allow Alertstap the slider on the left to turn it all off, or tap the slider on the right to turn it all on.

5. You can also move the slider left or right to customize on and off. extreme threat (extreme threat to life and property), serious threat (serious threat to life and property), amber alert (Child Abduction Emergency Bulletin), and test alert (if the carrier tests safety warning systems).

6. Scroll down to Early warning history Customize your alert settings, like if you want alerts to vibrate or if you want to receive alert reminders.

Customization allows you to focus on the urgent alerts you want to receive. For example, you can leave AMBER alerts on and turn off alerts for other threats. Alternatively, you can turn off test alerts so you don’t have to listen when your carrier is testing that your service is working.
Although it’s wise to keep such alerts on at all times and be aware of serious threats to yourself, your family, and/or your home, there are times when you may want to turn them off. For example, if you are dealing with a newborn who has trouble sleeping. You definitely don’t want a loud alarm going off at 3am to let you know that your child is missing in a faraway city. In such cases, to avoid unnecessary confusion, you can ask a close friend or family member to contact you if Amber or other alerts are near your home.
The ability to turn amber and emergency and weather alerts on and off is a feature available on all the best Android phones.
