Samsung Philippines has announced that the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro have received certification clearance and a new firmware update, allowing them to track blood pressure and read ECG (electrocardiogram) in the country.
ECG and blood pressure measurements only work with paired Samsung phones, the latter requires initial setup in the Samsung Health Monitor app using a real blood pressure monitor.
Once the first reading is synced to the Health Monitor app, blood pressure can now be measured via the Galaxy Watch5 series’ BioActive sensor and two side buttons on the casing that act as electrodes.
