The ease of use of the cockpit and the quick conversion to Formula and GT seating positions are also a plus. Yes, some of the aluminum profile unit conversions are much easier due to the broader design, but the end user will pay for that ease of configuration. The seat can be easily adjusted fore and aft with the included hardware, just like a car. Pull the lever under the seat and adjust as needed.
Once in place, we found that the seat wouldn’t move even with fairly strong input from the wheels. When I got up and sat down, I noticed the right side of the seat slid forward a bit, but it popped right back into place. There was no.
PU leather was comfortable for long races, but it’s not as breathable as other materials like microfiber and fabric options. This comes with a cost for the entire unit. Using PU leather takes more wear than cloth, but it’s not as breathable as the much more expensive microfiber units. I, of course, use this in the winter when the temperature in my house is in the late 70’s to late 60’s.
Using a 4-8 nm gear/pulley FFB base did not stress the platform at all. We were able to use without problem. Pedal flex when using the higher force load cell brakes was a bit of a concern, but the extra struts offered in the latest package are worth it (as long as the formula pedal position is used) that much should resolve.
