Teasers for the vivo X Fold2 continue to come from the 2023 Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan, China. A local blogger took this device out of the box and was later reposted by Vivo on his Weibo. It’s clearly a coordinated marketing event, allowing fans to learn more about the upcoming foldable device.
The back of the new phone has a 3/4 red leather panel and the remaining 1/4 has a glossy finish. While working with the X Fold2, we saw some new UI features in OriginOS Ocean. This includes a taskbar, multi-window mode, and simple gestures for better handling of apps. None of these were available on previous X Fold smartphones.
The device obviously has two fingerprint scanners under the display. This is the first time this feature has been confirmed for a foldable smartphone.
The blogger reveals that the hinge on the vivo X Fold2 is also improved. It stays in all positions and angles and constitutes a neat kickstand for watching video content and taking photos and videos. A significant improvement over the previous model.
The official reveal of the vivo X Fold2 will happen sometime in April. Given the fact that the phone is practically ready for sale, we’re expected to know a release date in the next few days.
