With a bevy of foldable phones launching this year, it looks like we’re in the midst of a new battle over who can sit down with the largest cover display on a clamshell-style flip phone. The Flip’s current winner, but renders of the latest Galaxy Z Flip 5 show Samsung isn’t on its laurels.
We recently saw a series of renders revealing the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s unique dual-screen exterior cover, but these new renders show a different take on the folding exterior screens. As a rendering update for , we worked with YouTuber Super Roader to create a concept image. Now, instead of two cover screen displays, the Z Flip 5 is presented with his one display.
The cover screen is mostly square, with the section next to the camera sticking out slightly.
Assuming this is what the Z Flip 5 looks like, it will definitely feature a larger cover display than the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Based on information from sources about Samsung’s next foldable.
Both mockups and renders are pretty similar, but the display takes up most of the covering on SamMobile.

The extra display might be a little clunky, but it’s ideal as a notification bar where you can place your icons. A rendering of the Motorola Razr+ 2023 shows a similar take, possibly relegating some of the display to icons for navigation and notifications.
We still have plenty of time before Samsung announces its next foldable device. These aren’t the first renderings of the device we’ve seen, and likely won’t be the last.
