The Frenz brainband talks you to sleep with artificial intelligence

Jordy Inn Star Trek Wear the VISOR, a gadget that draws arcs on your eyes and temples, to provide vision. Frenz founder and CEO Tam Vu wears a brainband (a gadget very similar to the VISOR) on his forehead to help him sleep at night and focus during the day. The future is here.

Vu told Mashable at CES 2023 that when you fall asleep, the Frenz brainband will talk to you, but not in an annoying way… to help you fall asleep faster. So the sound of crashing waves might prompt you to imagine you’re on the beach. I know. The sounds stop when you fall asleep, but the machine continues to collect information about you, says Vu.

The device is surprisingly comfortable, easily better than a dozen heat-free curlers I’ve tried to sleep on. The noise reaches your brain via bone-conducting speakers that look a lot like tiny plastic sea anemones. That little sea creature doubles as an alarm clock.

During the day, Frenz’s BrainBands can also help. You can focus on your work using the same techniques that help you fall asleep. We collect all that data and use it to give you feedback on your sleep and focus. For example, when your attention is at its lowest and suggestions for falling asleep faster.

It’s designed to work 24/7, but you can’t keep it on all the time. The battery lasts about 5 hours if you’re listening to sounds all the time, but he lasts 12 hours if you use it only for brain tracking, such as when you’re trying to fall asleep. But according to Vu, it only takes about 45 minutes to bring it back to full charge.

Frenz’s Brain Band will be available soon for $490, but you can cut that price by hundreds of dollars if you pre-order.
