Singapore’s data centers currently account for 7% of the country’s total electricity consumption. With the growing demand for cloud computing, finding sustainable solutions to reduce data center energy consumption and carbon footprint is critical.

In the data center, the hottest component in the server is the CPU (central processing unit), which requires a dedicated air-cooled heatsink, and the data center must also be cooled by cryogenic air conditioning.

In contrast, this innovation, developed by NTU scientists, uses a special spray of non-conductive fluids to directly cool the CPU without a heat sink, uses a closed-loop system to collect the fluid, and uses a tropical No need to cool them at ambient temperature. chiller or air conditioner.

Higher speeds also mean higher temperatures, so your CPU will run faster than it is currently limited by air cooling, resulting in better performance.

Spray cooling is estimated to take up 30% less space than traditional air-cooled data centers due to its high heat removal capacity.
