Deutsche Telekom currently owns a 50.2% majority stake in T-Mobile US. The news was confirmed by CEO Timotheus Höttges at his DT’s 2023 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting in Bonn, Germany yesterday. The new deal, reportedly valued at $1 billion, has seen Deutsche Telekom increase its ownership of T-Mobile for years.The U.S. carrier is DT’s most profitable unit. with a market capitalization of $178 billion and 110 million reported customers.

T-Mobile recently made headlines with its acquisition of Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile in a deal reportedly worth $1.35 billion. Deutsche Telekom has also announced goals to be fully climate neutral by 2025 and to make its entire value chain climate neutral by 2040.
