There were no detailed specifications in the announcement, but enterprising enthusiasts could get them from the TechPowerUp database. Citing the TPU, the new GPU would feature 7680 CUDA cores with a base clock of 2310 MHz and a boost clock of 2610 MHz. The 12 GB memory is GDDR6X at 21 Gbps and the 192-bit memory bus bandwidth is just over 500 GB/s. A significant drop from ~716 GB/s on the RTX 4080 and its 256-bit interface.
The most interesting part of this announcement is the claim that this RTX 4070 Ti is faster than the 3090 Ti while consuming about half the power. A bold claim, but not so bold that he’s 3x faster than the 3090 Ti slide (obviously he’s factoring in DLSS 3.0 + FG). No doubt it will be tested as critically as the RTX 30 series’ performance claims (remember, the RTX 3080 was touted). twice as fast as his RTX 2080).
