Inside a small geodesic dome near Iceland’s Herisheizi geothermal power station, carbon dioxide-filled water is pumped hundreds of meters below into porous basalt. At least, I believe so. The water is so clear that if you look into the pipes through the peephole, you can see the pipes in the sky. CO2 It reacts with metals in rocks and turns into carbonates, safely trapped for thousands of years.
