Sitpack is igniting crowdfunding again. Almost a year after winning his $336,000 campaign for the Octo Titanium Carabiner Multi-Tool, the Danish company is in the midst of his even more successful six-figure campaign. This is for the Campster 2, a faster and lower profile version of the original ultraportable Campster.New iteration packs everything but the set down to the size of a water bottle itself It rises flat in 5 seconds and provides a comfortable place to drop the flesh and bones of up to 300 lbs (136 kg) of men (or gals) both on and off the map.
The Octo tool seemed a bit unusual for Sitpack. Because the company has always focused on making the act of sitting as portable and universal as possible. Starting with an ultra-compact deployable stool, the original Campster with legs turned completely backwards.
An ultra-lightweight chair made for sitting in secluded areas for long periods of time, the original Campster was a mid-pandemic product if you’ve seen one. Now that the pandemic is over, campers and adventurers don’t have to stray far from their cars and cabins and may be able to afford to rack up a little extra weight.

The new Campster 2 uses a four-legged aluminum frame that looks more stable than the original tripod base, adding about 1.2 pounds (544 g) of weight to the Campster. It also has a 12 inch (30.5 cm) seat height that sits low to the ground and features a square bucket-style seat reminiscent of other low folding chairs such as the CLIQ. Its low height may or may not prove an advantage depending on your preference.I prefer low chairs when using a sunken fire pit, but a high chair with an above-ground fire pit or ring I like.

Sitpack is running a Campster 2 Kickstarter campaign, offering chairs at pledge levels as low as $59 USD. We also offer a $129 bundle that includes accessories such as an insulated seat cover for warmth in cold weather and a ground sheet that attaches to all four feet to prevent sinking into sand or other soft ground. If all goes well, the company will start shipping in the middle of summer in the northern hemisphere in July.
