A California electric bike company has unveiled a youth bike-inspired electric bike known as the Model J. It has everything from frame and fork colors to the drivetrain to the number of batteries available for custom tuning.
EBC Founder and CEO Sean Lupton-Smith said: “We have packed all the premium standard features into a fun and adventurous e-bike that is suitable for both urban and off-road terrain.We couldn’t be more excited about this new addition to our roster I couldn’t do it.”
California is no stranger to motor design-inspired ebikes, and Super73 has been leading the way since 2016. The Electric Bike Company has been in business for several years and so far has focused on cruisers and low-step commuters. The Model J is intended to attract a younger crowd to the EBC stables.
Comes with an unspecified rear hub motor that provides 5 levels of pedal assist up to the factory default top speed of 20 mph (32 km/h), or 28 mph (45 km/h) depending on local regulations can be unlocked to Riders can choose to change the default thumb throttle to a half-twist his grip at no extra charge. The Model J launches as a single speeder as standard, but for a little more money you can get a 7-speed derailleur. Optional 3 batteries available. It rides on 24-inch wheels, puncture-resistant tires rock reflective sidewalls, and stopping power comes from two-piston hydraulic brakes with 180 mm rotors and motor cut-off. The hydroformed aluminum frame is built to accommodate riders 5.16 to 6.8 feet (1.57 to 2.08 m) tall, features a long, bike-inspired seat, and accommodates optional cargo racks and baskets with the MIK integrated click system. LED lighting is integrated front and rear, can be upgraded with turn signal and brake light functions, and the EBC also includes a sturdy kickstand.
