Aventon adds responsive torque sensor to go-anywhere folding ebike

Folding e-bikes are great for car-free commuting, but most are designed for city living. Aventon’s Sinch model is also eager to hit the beaten path, and now the fat-tire adventurer has entered its second generation.

The Sinch.2 rolls with the lower stepover height of the 2022 Sinch Step Through model, but offers some key upgrades. First of all, Aventon has managed to further increase the range per charge from the 672 Wh downtube battery which is safety certified to UL2849 standard. If the original Cinch could manage 30 miles and the Step Thru could add another 10 miles, the 2nd generation ride would be considered good for up to 55 miles (88.5 km).

The 500 W (750 W peak) motor remains the same, but compared to the cadence sensor on its predecessor, a torque sensor has been added to the e-bike’s bottom bracket for a more comfortable ride. Pedal assist over four power levels is available to him up to 20 mph (32 km/h) and he can kick the lights off his throttle onboard. The rear also has one more sprocket for him so he can accommodate eight sprockets instead of seven, giving the rider even more flexibility.
