Google upgrades Android Auto with new look at CES 2023

Android owners, rejoice! Playing podcasts in your car has never been easier.

At CES 2023, google announced A new version of Android Auto will start rolling out soon. The in-car experience, which automatically pops up on your in-car screen when you connect your Android phone, gets a new design that makes life easier for drivers who theoretically can’t get enough of their phones.

The first is the map view, which sits near the driver’s seat so it’s the first thing you see when you glance at the screen. There’s also a new quick launcher for frequently used apps, and Google’s adoption of the “Material You” visual design language. Pixel smartphone for overall aesthetics.

You can also make WhatsApp calls using Pixel and Samsung phones.

Oh, and perhaps most importantly: Songs and podcasts now show a progress barIt seems like a pretty big oversight that Android Auto didn’t have it yet, but progress is progress. And if you share your car with others, Digital Key Sharing will be coming to Samsung and Xiaomi phones this year.
