Swiss authorities added that “federal experts quickly became aware of the attack” and “are taking steps to restore accessibility to websites and applications as quickly as possible.”

The distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack was claimed by NoName, a pro-Russian threat group that specializes in such attacks against Ukrainian and European entities.

The group claimed to have carried out similar attacks on the Swiss parliament on 7 and 8 June.

The Swiss federal government is also investigating a ransomware attack against Xplain, a Swiss software vendor that has ties to several government agencies, including the Swiss Armed Forces, Fedpol and FSS, on June 8. announced. .

Xplain earlier confirmed the attack, saying it believed the first attack occurred on June 3 and was carried out by the Play ransomware group, which is believed to be based in Russia.
