After announcing a slew of new monitors and smart TVs at CES 2023, Samsung has gone ahead and quietly unveiled its new Galaxy A14 5G mid-ranger smartphone with a 6.6-inch, FHD+, 90Hz display and triple cameras on the back. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, the device offers a competitive experience in a compact form factor and affordability.

The new Galaxy A14 features a similar design and layout to its predecessor, the Galaxy A13, announced in March 2022. It has the same big display, big battery, affordable chipset with plenty of power, and a decent spec sheet. Prove. Flip the phone over to reveal a triple camera setup. It has a 50MP f/1.8 primary, a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Unfortunately, this isn’t the best setup we’ve seen from Samsung. We’d love to see either the macro or depth sensor replaced by an ultrawide. Interesting.
In terms of software, the Galaxy A14 is powered by Android 13, supports Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band. Many will be happy to know that the Galaxy A14 is one of the few rare devices he has that also comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. As such, users of wired headphones will be happy to enjoy their music.Samsung also claims that the Galaxy A14 5G will receive up to “two generations of Android OS upgrades and up to four years of security updates,” making it ideal for 2023.
