Another consumer electronics show is on and (almost) done. The Barge We were there to capture all of the biggest announcements, names and gadgets in Las Vegas this year. As always, CES is an opportunity to show how companies envision the future of technology, and we wanted to analyze some of the best we saw on the show floor this year.
best monitor: Samsung Odyssey G95SC
CES has always been a battle of the screens, and 2023 was no different. Samsung claims this 49-inch model is the world’s first his 32:9 aspect ratio OLED gaming monitor. We don’t know the price tag yet, but the company says we can see it later this year.
The best evolution of the concept: BMW i Vision D
CES wouldn’t be CES without gimmicks and wacky concepts. The BMW i Vision Dee is a perfect example. The concept car has come a long way since it was unveiled at CES 2022, adding a full-color version of E Ink technology to transform it into 32 colors.
Best in Show: Matter
Smart home adoption once again took center stage at CES 2023, with Matter in the spotlight. New interoperability standards have set a lofty goal of simplifying the smart home, and companies like Samsung, Google, and Apple are working to make it work. We still have a long way to go to the simpler, interconnected future that Matter promises, and we’ll be following that journey closely.
From the best health tech to the best beauty gadgets to the coolest names, there was so much more to experience this year. Watch the full video above breaking down all the standouts from CES 2023. For the rest of his CES on The Verge, see here for the 2023 awards.
