As Android technology advances, so does the ability to do everything right from your Android smartphone or tablet. Printing used to be a time-consuming process, but thankfully it has been shortened and made much easier.
Previously, you had to use Google’s Cloud Print app to connect your printer to your computer via a wireless network or USB. However, Google Cloud Print was discontinued in 2020, so you don’t have to mess with it anymore.
Here’s how to print files from your Android smartphone or tablet in a few easy steps. All you need is a printer connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Android device.
How to print files from your Android smartphone or tablet
1. Open a file stored locally or in a cloud service such as Google Drive or Dropbox. In this case, I chose a locally saved PDF file.
2. Tap . three vertical dots It’s on the top right of the screen.

These instructions apply to local files on your device and certain cloud storage apps. This doesn’t mean you can’t print anything from the web if you want. If you want to print a file from the Internet using your Android smartphone or tablet, follow the next set of steps.
How to print files from the Internet on your Android smartphone or tablet
1. Open google chrome on your Android device.
2. Go to the web page or file you want to print in Chrome.
3. Tap the three vertical dots in the upper right corner.

6. Tap the drop-down arrow at the top of the screen.
7. Select your printer from the list and Print.

Most modern printers come with Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth connectivity. This makes it very convenient to use them on your Android device. Luckily, almost all document viewers like Google Docs and Dropbox have printing functionality built into their settings.
If you’re lucky, your printer may come with a companion app for Android smartphones and tablets that can speed up your jobs.
