Full disclosure: I hate vaping cannabis flowers. I simply prefer a bon lip or a dub that skips all the bullshit and forces you into the death grip of buttery happiness as soon as it hits your lungs. That said, the Volcano Hybrid really made me rethink this. It brings the science and art of tapping to bud smoking, allowing you to utilize flowers more efficiently than lighters. Good stoners of the world, let me tell you.
The classic Volcano has been around since 2000 and people still rave about it. Whenever I have $400 to spare, I usually blow it with a hash within minutes, so I certainly haven’t used one. I’ve tried about 100 other different flower vaporizers and hated all of them. They all look like burnt butt popcorn It tasted great and didn’t feel high enough.
When the Volcano Hybrid arrived at my home, I wanted to leave my reaction entirely to science, so I bought a 2/8. That day). I bought these two specific eighths so that I can approach this from both the average consumer’s and my own perspectives and palettes.
Unpacking the Volcano Hybrid was a bit of a challenge. There are a lot of tubes, bags, and different attachments that can confuse you if you don’t read the instructions, so be sure to read the little quick start manual that comes with it before using it.
There are two main ways to use it: the classic method of putting steam in a ready-made bag and inhaling through the mouthpiece attached to the bag, and the method of attaching a tube directly to the body and inhaling as much as you like. I first tried the bad apple with a bag and it took a few tries to get it right but compared to other flower vaporizers I’ve tried it’s very clean and relatively flavorful It was a rich hit. In my opinion, the same flower tasted better from a clean bong, but it actually tasted higher from a Volcano because it used the flower more efficiently than one might imagine with a lighter. I also tend to hit the bowl only once after the lighter touches the flower, as what is left usually tastes burnt after the first hit, but each time it hits from the volcano bag. had a consistent and smooth flavor.
In the past, from all the flower vaporizers I’ve tried, all the flowers tasted exactly the same, so I wanted to try two distinctly different qualities of weed.To my absolute delight. Not only did the good flowers taste much better than the poor quality flowers, but they also smoked much smoother than smoking from a pipe or bong. , was very well tolerated in the Volcano Hybrid. That alone should prove its effectiveness.
It’s also worth noting that I caught a bit of a cold the day after the volcano arrived, so there were smoking options around the house which helped ease my throat. Ultimately, I still needed a few dabs to get where I wanted to be, but my throat was still grateful because I usually dab like a loon from sunrise to sunset.
Now let’s go to the functions. I compared the Volcano Hybrid to the Dubbing because you can choose your own experience each time. Cools your nails for exactly 82 seconds when you’re dabbing in the morning, but 75 seconds or so when you want a little punch in the face in the late afternoon. It has an app that you can customize, so I get very wet in this regard. Can be set to blow for seconds. The possibilities are truly endless. The app is currently only available for Android, but there is a web browser version for iPhone users.
I didn’t notice much of a difference between using the tube and the bag, so I pretty much stuck with using the bag because, frankly, it looks cool as hell. And if you want to get super high without moving at all or waking up sleepers with noise from your bag, having a tube option is nice.
This is where the big question arises: is it worth the money?
It retails for about $699, and while I personally wouldn’t spend that money, I would argue that others should. Here’s why.
I’m a writer, but writers aren’t typically swimming in disposable income. But seriously, I don’t really care about flowers to begin with. It does not create an experience.
But I’m not most people. The overwhelming majority of consumers I’ve spoken to just want to get high without losing their lungs, not to mention they need to consume weed, but are very much unable to smoke without risking dreadful dangers such as lung infections. The Volcano Hybrid is well worth the money for those people. Taking care of the cilia in the back of the throat and using cannabis with minimal damage to the body It’s the ultimate experience for those who want to.
Vaporization of the flowers won’t happen immediately, so I recommend being patient with this machine. Instead of speeding up the hit by 5 minutes, cook it a few minutes longer at a lower temperature. So you don’t have to spoil the taste with the midge ones that double the rules.
Another tip I have is to spend some time figuring out what temperatures your flowers burn best. Because it promises to change from strain to strain and even microclimate to microclimate. Helpful. 190 degrees Celsius is the recommended maximum temperature, but if you don’t care too much about flavor, bump it up to about 206 to get a firm bag within 2-3 minutes without sacrificing too much flavor. Overall, I think this is very smooth and worth the extra money over the Volcano Classic. I’m a hushhead at heart, so it won’t be a daily drive, but this will definitely get a lot of use in my home.
