Circle, which issues the popular stablecoin USD Coin, has been largely isolated from the turmoil in the cryptocurrency market in recent months. Thanks to rising interest rates, the company is seeing revenue growth and is looking to expand into new markets.
Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire likens the company’s structure to a hybrid of a technology company and a traditional finance company. “I have two big jobs,” Allaire told his The Information. “We have the products and the technology and everything to become a global regulated financial company.”
Information’s org chart represents the Circle’s 86 top executives, from the company’s top engineers to top compliance officers. The company hired a former Meta Platforms executive to lead marketing and a former Citi executive to manage the company’s finances. In total, the company has his 940 employees.
