Philips DiamondClean 9000 – the high-tech toothbrush (review)

The Philips DiamondClean 9000 toothbrush provides excellent cleaning and the Philips Sonicare app offers a set of brushing metrics.

Okay, this is not a cheap toothbrush. A deluxe kit with a USB charging travel case and charging glasses is $379, but there are often deals and bundles to look for.

But remember, this is just the reviewer’s opinion. For my wife and I, for our needs, these are better than the comparable iO Series 8 or 9 from Oral-B.

why? We’ve used Oral-B for years, believing the rotating head removes more plaque than regular brushing.Philips uses a traditional toothbrush-style head that moves up and down. , more harmonious with traditional left and right brushing. Anyway, any electric toothbrush will clean well.

First impressions: Well done – Pass+

It is a rechargeable electric toothbrush that can be used as it is. There are various Bluetooth (BrushSync) pressure sensitive heads.

  • C3 deep cleaning and plaque control (standard head).
  • G3 of gum care.
  • W3 for proper paste to remove stains.

It has two buttons.Cycles power on/off and mode/intensity

  • Wash – normal plaque removal, 2 minute wash
  • White+ – surface stain removal (with paste), clean in 2 minutes 40 seconds
  • Gum Health – Gum Massage, Clean in 3 minutes 20 seconds
  • Deep Clean+ (most used mode) – 3 minute clean

You can also change the intensity to 1x, 2x, or 3x. The toothbrush vibrates every 30 seconds to remind you to move to new tooth areas.

The kit comes with glass, power base and USB-A travel case. Travel cases are beautifully made, but they take up a lot of space in your travel kit. When I travel, I take one handle and two brushes with me.

App – Pass

Up front, I should have known that the Android or iOS apps would be useful, but I stopped using them after a week or so of my review. why? A toothbrush is a toothbrush and this is great with or without the app.

the app will tell you

  • daily brushing session
  • Time spent in each brushing session
  • Application of brushing pressure
  • Brush head replacement notice (based on actual use)

Brushing pressure is useful for identifying where too much hand force is being applied.

If you’ve used this before, the brush head replacement notice will occur at about 180 cleanings or 3 months. This can take quite a few weeks before a change is required. You can continue to use it until it is time to replace it.

Battery Life – Pass+

Cleaning twice a day will take about a month (14 days according to Philips). Charging time is about 4 hours.

Consumer Advice: Lithium batteries have a fixed number of charge cycles. We recommend using this until you are ready to charge it instead of leaving it on the glass charger/base all the time.

CyberShack’s take – Philips DiamondClean 9000 is a premium toothbrush that makes a difference.

It cleans the teeth very well. If that’s all you want, this is for you.

Although nothing can replace an annual cleaning at the dentist, plaque is significantly reduced.

The included USB travel charging case is a great accessory.
