During the pandemic, Tita Ardiati and Bayu Puspito Bhaskoro started developing life coaching content to support employees who are increasingly burned out by working from home. They were so well received that they decided to develop their product into an employee assistance program called Mindtera. It currently serves more than 10,000 employees in Indonesia.
Today, the startup announced a total of $850,000 in seed funding led by East Ventures, with participation from Seedstars International Ventures and angel investors.
Bhaskoro told TechCrunch the startup is focused on the B2B market, which includes medium to large enterprises. It also offers a self-service platform for small businesses. Main sectors are finance, consulting and retail and typical clients he has over 200 employees.
Mindtera aims to support employees not only in their work-related challenges, but also in their personal lives such as finances, family and relationships. Meanwhile, businesses gain insight into what their employees want and how to create a more engaged and productive workforce.
Mindtera includes two platforms. The first, called Mindtera Pro, is an analytics dashboard and app with assessment tools for collecting employee feedback, used for company employee well-being and engagement insights. This includes surveys in which employees participate anonymously or use their names. You can offer suggestions, criticisms, and other opinions about your work and your employer.
The second, Mindtera Plus, connects companies with coaching and development consultants to help with management and work culture issues. Employers can choose to either enroll her in Mindtera Plus for an ongoing action plan or work with a consultant as needed. Mindtera Plus uses internal consultants, external certified consultants and select partners who provide clients with strategic program planning and monthly or quarterly progress reports.
According to Bhaskoro, Mindtera’s main competitors are EAPs based outside Indonesia and traditional human resource consulting firms. Mindtera’s main differentiator is the ability to monitor employee engagement in real time, rather than waiting for reports. Mindtera Pro also gives you greater visibility into spending on activities, vendors, or platforms that you use as interventions to improve productivity and performance.
The new funding will be used to expand Mindtera’s B2B platform with the goal of becoming the top employee assistance program platform in Indonesia.
In a statement regarding the funding, Seedstars International Ventures general partner Patricia Sosrodjojo said: to deal with this effectively. Mindtera is at the forefront of fundamental changes in the workplace and has been able to rapidly expand its reach in the HR sector in Indonesia. “
