Aeno Premium Eco Smart Heater Review: Smart infrared heating

verdict

Trusted review recommendations

The Aeno Premium Eco Smart Heater is an infrared panel heater that heats the air directly and efficiently without drying or odor. Highly flexible panel heating, available in black or white, suitable for horizontal or vertical wall mounting and floor standing. It warmed up nicely in my testing, the only major downside being the lack of an on/off switch on the physical control bar.

Strong Points

  • looks great
  • Multiple mounting options
  • heating evenly

Cons

  • No physical temperature control

  • typeThis is an infrared panel heater that can be wall, ceiling or floor mounted.

  • temperature controlThe panel can be set between 60°C and 120°C and the target temperature can be set in the app.

prologue

If there’s one problem with many electric heaters, it’s that they look ugly and cheap. If you’re looking for something more stylish, the Aeno Premium Eco Smart Heater Infrared Panel Heater is for you.

Low running costs, uncompromising looks, and plenty of mounting options make it a great choice for those who can afford it.

design and function

  • available in black and white
  • Smart controls, but no physical controls
  • vertical, horizontal or floor standing

Available in black or white, the Aeno Premium Eco Smart Heater is just 11m thick and finished in beautiful glossy glass. It’s great and looks like a step above most of the panel heaters.

A 1000 x 365 x 11mm heater takes up a lot of space. Fan heaters such as the TCP Smart Heating Fan Heater Mini don’t look as good, but they take up much less space.

Still, the Aeno Premium Eco Smart Heater at least has the advantage of being able to be installed in multiple ways, giving you the choice of wall mounting (horizontally or vertically) or floor standing with the included feet. The website also mentions ceiling mounting, but this should be done professionally for safety reasons.

Easy to install, it comes with a drilling template for wall mounting and thumbscrews for attaching brackets or legs.

Plug it in and the heater is ready to use with the power button attached to the side. That’s about as far as physical control goes, and it’s a bit disappointing that there’s no way to set the target temperature on the radiator itself. Using a standard heating element, the Princess Glass Smart Panel Heater has an LCD screen and controls on the front.

Instead, the Aeno Premium Eco Smart Heater should be controlled via the app. Aeno offers its own app, but the heater uses the Smart Life platform, so you can use the Smart Life app instead (just select the install option as Wi-Fi heater).

With Smart Life, Hey! and TCP via the same app. Either way, the control interface and options are the same regardless of whether you use the Aeno app or the Smart Life app.

Basically, the heater can be turned on and off via the app. The default option allows you to heat the room indefinitely by simply turning on the panel. Switch to the smart option and you have a target temperature slider from 0C to 40C.

When the right temperature is reached, the panel turns off and turns on again when the temperature cools down. This is a more efficient way of running the heater.

In addition to manually controlling the heater, you can set it to run on a schedule or on a timer via the app.

The default setting heats the panel to a maximum temperature of 120C. However, the app has a slider that you can adjust to a minimum of 60C, which he has two effects. First, energy consumption is reduced. Second, the panel doesn’t get hot. This is useful if you have children or pets.

It is also equipped with a tipping prevention function, and if the panel is dropped or knocked over, the power will automatically turn off and a warning beep will sound.

Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant Skills are available, offering voice control of on/off and temperature targets.

performance

  • power efficiency
  • thermostat responds quickly
  • Direct heating with infrared

This is not a convection heater, it is an infrared heater that directly heats objects in its path. Infrared heaters are more efficient because they act like the sun, heating you and objects (walls, bookshelves, etc.) evenly. A heated object radiates heat, making the environment more comfortable than convection or fan heaters that heat the air.

Using a standard heater not only gives you a path for warmth, but the heater dries out the air, making the environment less comfortable. neither.

Generally speaking, infrared heaters are up to 40% more efficient than ceramic or fan heaters with similar specifications.

This heater was rated at 700W and had a measured maximum power consumption of 794W. Instead of this being continuous, the heater is turned on in bursts to maintain the target panel temperature. If you set it to 60C, the element will not turn on much. Setting it to 120C will require the heating element to be used more often.

According to Mr. Aeno, the heater uses 160Wh at 60℃ setting and 700Wh at 120℃ setting. Using a 60°C heater, it took him 1 hour and 19 minutes to raise the room temperature from 19°C to 22°C using only 0.332 kWh.

I also felt the benefits of infrared heating. I felt warm when the panel was 1.5m away, but it feels natural because there is no hot air like a fan heater.

This heater is designed for rooms up to 30 square meters, so it can handle medium to large rooms well.

With a gorgeous look and flexible installation options, the Aeno Premium Eco Smart Heater efficiently heats you and your room thanks to its infrared heating elements. It is very efficient and heats more naturally than traditional fans or convection heaters. The only drawback is the lack of manual controls. So you have to use the app to tweak the temperature.
