Australia’s Fliteboard has announced the launch of its Series 3 electric hydrofoil board. This includes a brand new Primordial model called the Ultra L, which is billed as the world’s lightest performance eFoil.
“Further pursuing the ultimate in ride comfort, the Series 3 offers a record-breaking development with the world’s lightest performance eFoil, lightest lithium-ion eFoil battery ever, and the world’s first replaceable propulsion system.” said David Trewern, the company’s founder and CEO. “These advances will truly change the way we experience water.”
New to the series, the Ultra L weighs 22.5 kg (49.6 lbs) including the nano lithium-ion battery pack due to its carbon construction and lack of footstraps and handles. The eFoil is aimed at experienced enthusiasts and is designed to provide “the most agile and responsive ride”.
Its 6.2 kg (14 lb) Flitecell Nano battery should be good for about 45 minutes on the surface (a full refill takes less than an hour). The battery enclosure is also positioned closer to the new 80 cm (31.5 in) mast, promising improved maneuverability, increased lean angle and minimized swing weight.
The Ultra-L comes pre-configured with Flow Wings and True Glide Props, starting at $13,195 USD.

The company also introduced a new dual drive interchangeable propulsion system for its Series 3 Fliteboard, Pro, Air, Ultra and Ultra L models. This allows the rider to replace the propellers with his new Flite Jet system. Still drag the eFoil – no need to disassemble the tool.
Completing the new development is the addition of the cruiser to wing options designed to facilitate takeoff, improve stability and ride swells without the need to use a motor. In addition, more affordable flightboards and Pro-hi fiberglass options are offered starting at his $9,995, including props and guards, wings for a flyer or cruiser, and a sport battery.
