A year-and-a-half after YouTube first announced it, the platform’s AI dubbing service has arrived. The company shared the news alongside some example videos equipped with auto dubbing (which we’ll get into in a bit). The feature is available to “hundreds of thousands of” informational or educational YouTube Partner Program channels, with broader rollout planned soon.Creators can have their English language video dubbed in French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese or Spanish. Smart wearables for the wrist – smart bands, basic smartwatches and advanced smartwatches – grew a modest 3% in Q3 2024 compared to the same period of 2023. That’s a total of 52.9 million units shipped, but inside that total is a complex mix. Smart bands had the most upward momentum and grew 7% to a total of 10.4 million units. Global law enforcement agencies have seized 27 popular platforms used to launch Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks to take websites offline. Three administrators have been arrested in France and Germany and over 300 users were identified for planned operational activities. The operation, known as PowerOFF, sought to disrupt cybercriminals’ attempts to disrupt the festive season with such attacks. Europol noted that this is a peak period for DDoS attacks. The platforms that have been disrupted are known as ‘booter’ and ‘stresser’ websites.
