  • Amazfit launched the GTR 4 smartwatch in India.
  • The GTR 4 is priced at Rs 16,999 and comes in three color options.
  • here is my review of Amazfit GTR 4 A smartwatch that helps you decide whether to buy a smartwatch.

Amazfit recently launched the GTR 4, the latest addition to the company’s GTR series. The watch is the successor to the company’s popular smartwatch GTR 3 and features a larger display, larger battery and improved tracking capabilities.

Unlike the company’s rugged T-Rex 2 smartwatch, the GTR 4 features a more traditional watch-like design. The watch features the company’s new dual-band GPS, which it claims is an industry first. The company also offers a larger display than its predecessor, allowing you to view more content.

I have been using the Amazfit GTR 4 smartwatch for several weeks now. Here are our in-depth smartwatch reviews to help you decide whether to buy one.

Amazfit GTR 4 price and availability

The Amazfit GTR 4 is priced at INR 16,999 in India. The smartwatch is available from Flipkart and Amazfit online stores in black, leather brown and racetrack gray color options.

Amazfit GTR 4 design and display

Amazfit has redesigned the GTR 4 compared to its predecessor. The GTR 3’s curved display and rounded design have been replaced by a flat display with sharp lines.

The watch has a black bezel around the display with tiny lines that are barely visible.

The watch has a navigation crown and a button on the bottom right for quickly launching workout menus. Apart from this, the watch has no buttons and you have to use the display to perform all operations. The crown provides great tactile feedback when in use.

Amazfit GTR 4 StrapSaurab Jain

The watch has a 22mm strap. The watch I tested uses a black silicone strap, but the company also offers a brown leather and gray nylon strap. You can also easily replace the watch strap to fit a third party strap. The straps are well ventilated and comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

The back features an aluminum alloy case that houses all the sensors and magnetic pins for the charger.

As for the display, the Amazfit GTR 4 has a slightly larger display than its predecessor, featuring a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. The display supports always-on functionality and comes with a scratch-resistant glass and anti-fingerprint coating to prevent finger smudges on the display.

The display is crisp and bright even in direct sunlight. Equipped with an auto brightness mode that can automatically adjust the brightness of the watch according to the outside light.

Features of Amazfit GTR 4

Amazfit GTR 4 is a feature-packed smartwatch with a heart rate sensor and the company’s BioTracker 4.0 PPG biometric sensor to measure blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels, a much-needed feature since the Covid-19 pandemic I can do it.

This watch has dozens of watch faces, giving you several options depending on your taste. It offers several sport modes and lets you easily track your workouts and activities.

The watch can track activity, sleep levels and cycles, perform breathing exercises, track a woman’s menstrual cycle, record voice memos, and create a to-do list.

Amazfit GTR 4 performance and battery life

The Amazfit GTR 4 is packed with features on paper, but do these features translate well in real life? We tested the watch and found the overall experience to be good and the watch performing well. It turns out there is.

Starting with health and activity tracking, I compared the Amazfit GTR 4 numbers with other smartwatches and certified pulse oximeters to see if there were any deviations.

The watch worked well with health tracking and showed accurate information. The sleep tracking feature also worked well, and I found the sleep times shown on the watch to be accurate.

The new one-tap measurement works well, revealing your heart rate, stress level, blood oxygen saturation and breathing rate in just 45 seconds, giving you an easy picture of your health. This allows you to track some important stats throughout your day, taking less than a minute each time. I found this feature useful and used it at least 4-5 times a day.

The Amazfit GTR 4 performs well in activity tracking, but with minor deviations. I compared this watch to other devices from the company, such as his T-Rex 2 and Oppo Watch. I did notice a slight discrepancy in step count and distance, but unless you’re an expert looking for super accurate information, the discrepancy shouldn’t be an issue.

Battery life is one of the GTR 4’s biggest selling points, and the watch pays off in this regard. It is claimed to offer up to 14 days of battery life on a single charge. During my use, I was able to get around 12 days of battery life with normal activity tracking and always-on display during the day. This is excellent.

software and apps

Amazfit GTR 4 runs on Zepp OS 2.0. It’s one of the few smartwatch operating systems that is comfortable to use and doesn’t feel stingy or laggy. It is easy to use and the user interface is very sleek.

Zepp is a companion app that you must install to sync your data and manage your watch. Available for both Android and iOS devices.

The app has a clean interface that lets you easily access your workout data and health information and manage your watch settings. You can also install new applications on your watch using the app.

Verdict and Competitors

The Amazfit GTR 4 is a great smartwatch with lots of features and ticks all the right boxes. A good option for users looking for a watch that looks like a traditional watch.

If you’re looking for a rugged smartwatch, the GTR 4 isn’t the right choice.

At this price point, the Amazfit GTR 4 will compete with the Fossil Gen 5E, OnePlus Watch, Amazfit T-Rex 2, and Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
