CES is two weeks away. You know what that means. It’s a pile of product announcements. Lenovo seems to want to beat the rush as it unveiled a range of beautiful new devices today. Now let’s talk about the Think family of products for business.
Ahead is the all-new ThinkPad X1 family. These are Lenovo’s do-it-all business model, offering great performance combined with attractive visual style and great portability. As usual, the latest ThinkPad X1 series comes in his three flavors: the foldable convertible Yoga, the ultraportable Nano, and the top-of-the-line Carbon (which you can check out at the top of this page).
The Thinkpad X1 Carbon is a 14-inch laptop that was once called an “ultrabook.” It features narrow screen bezels and a mechanical shutter for FHD+IR MIPI computer vision cameras. The X1 Yoga is also a 14″ laptop, but it’s a convertible with flexible hinges that allow you to use the laptop like a tablet or stand it up in tent mode. The Nano, on the other hand, is a smaller laptop with a 13-inch display. All three models feature a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports and a pair of USB Type-A ports.
The two larger models, Carbon and Yoga, come with up to 64GB of memory and an optional VESA HDR500 TrueBlack certified OLED display. 16GB of RAM and a 450 cd/m² IPS LCD are enough for the Nano. All three systems can be configured with up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage and are available with “latest Intel Core processors.” This is the 12th Gen Alder Lake at the time of this writing, but it’s very likely that these laptops will feature 13th Gen Raptor Lake mobile CPUs by the time they launch next year. increase.
Perhaps the most exciting announcement in Lenovo’s professional portfolio this week is the new ThinkVision Mini-LED monitor. The ThinkVision P27pz-30 and P32pz-30 are 27-inch and 32-inch monitors with 4K UHD resolution that use an IPS LCD panel backed by a mini LED backlight that provides 1,152 dimming zones. As you can imagine, this delivers incredible HDR performance, including reaching peak brightness of 1,200 cd/m².
Not surprisingly, they are DisplayHDR 1000 certified and support connectivity using HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, or USB4. Both monitors feature a USB 3.2 hub that supports 140W charging and RJ-45 connectivity so you can use the monitor as a docking station for your laptop. These are professional monitors, not gaming displays, so they refresh at 60Hz, but both monitors can do 99% of Adobe RGB or DCI-P3, making them perfect for digital artists.
This isn’t the only display Lenovo will debut next year. The company’s ThinkVision VoIP monitors, the charmingly named T27hv-30, T24mv-30, and T24v-30, are clearly designed for remote workers. As you might expect, each model includes a webcam (in this case his 5MP with IR), as well as dual mics and integrated stereo speakers. New for this generation are a dedicated Microsoft Teams button, an indicator that the user is in a call, an alert when too much time is spent in front of the screen, and Eyesafe 2.0 certification.
The T27hv-30 is a 27 inch model with QHD (1440p) resolution and the T24mv-30 is a 23.8 inch display with FHD (1080p). Both of these displays use USB Type-C to connect to a host computer, have the aforementioned RJ-45 jacks, and act as docking stations with wired network access. If you want something a little older, the T24v-30 uses the same display as his T24mv-30, but swaps out the USB Type-C port for a Type-B connection and also uses a VGA plug.
Those with Thunderbolt 4 passthrough are in luck too, as both of Lenovo’s ThinkVision P series displays offer it. The ThinkVision P49w-30 is a 49-inch double-wide display with a resolution of 5120×1440 and an aspect ratio of 32:9. % DCI-P3 color space. In addition to TB4 pass-through, it also has another USB Type-C port for charging, four USB Type-A ports and RJ-45 connectivity. – “Near-edgeless” 31.5 inch IPS LCD monitor with 4K UHD resolution capable of reproducing 95% of the P3 color space. It’s probably not as impressive as his P49w-30 or Mini LED model above, but it’s definitely a gorgeous display nonetheless. Lenovo assigns this his pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports, four USB Type-A ports, a USB Type-B connection, and an RJ-45 jack.
Finally, we have the entry-level L27i-40 and L24m-40 displays. These are very basic office or student monitors, but that doesn’t mean the displays are bad. In fact, both are his FHD IPS LCDs with built-in speakers that can reproduce 99% of the sRGB color space. Larger models accept HDMI or VGA inputs, while smaller monitors skip the VGA plug for 4-port USB hubs.
As you might have guessed, all of this hardware is due out next year. The Thinkpad X1 laptops are coming in April, with Nano starting at $1649, Carbon starting at $1729, and Yoga starting at $1859. The ThinkVision P32p-30 will also launch in his April for $999, but its double-wide sibling won’t show up until his June, selling for $1699.
The Lenovo ThinkVision VOIP Monitor will be available in May with prices starting at $259, $399 and $519. Unfortunately, these beautiful mini LED displays aren’t coming until August. The 32-inch model starts at $1599, and Lenovo has yet to decide on pricing for the smaller version.
