I feel like I’m doing everything right on my testbed setup, but the fact that all these drives hit the wall at about 7160 MB/s suggests a limit somewhere. Presumably this is the practical limit for PCIe 4.0 x4 drives on this platform, but the standard theoretically allows close to 8 GB/s (~7877 MB/s), but there is some overhead to consider .
From the actual simulation of the PCMark 10 test above, we proceed to the strictly synthesized CrystalDiskMark results below. As usual, I ran the test with 4 different queue depths (1, 2, 4, 8) in one thread.
