To book an online therapy session with Teladoc, you must create an account on the Teladoc website or Teladoc app. The registration process can take some time as we offer a variety of services and calculate costs based on your health insurance.
Once registered, Teladoc will show the user which therapists are licensed in that state. Users can see the qualifications and expertise of the therapist, the language they speak, whether they are booking by phone, video call, or both.
Teladoc appointments must be scheduled 72 hours in advance. Appointments are available 7 days a week, but the time and frequency with which you can meet with your provider depends on their availability.
Users must complete an additional health questionnaire and enter payment information before an appointment is made, but Teladoc only charges after the initial appointment. Users then scroll through recommended therapists. to select a therapist to book.
Once registered, users will receive an email and text reminder with a link to an online appointment or instructions on how a call with a therapist works. Therapists usually make appointments over the phone.
For video appointments, users receive a text message and email to enter the waiting room 10 minutes before the appointment starts. During this time, the user can adjust her webcam, volume, and/or mute settings, but cannot disable the camera for the virtual appointment. The therapist also has their camera on during the appointment.
Whether you choose video or phone, all therapy sessions are 45 minutes. Each Teladoc online therapy session is unique to each individual’s needs and therapist of choice.
After booking, Teladoc will send another email and text with necessary follow-up information, such as a session summary, “homework” that the user can do during the session, and instructions to schedule another appointment. To do. Users can also schedule another appointment with the same therapist or change therapists for the next session.
