Choosing AMD is not a resizable BAR!
The majority of reviews targeting the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT had Smart Access Memory enabled as it offers better performance. What we didn’t find out was how much it improved framerates or if we were speculating about the effect of SAM on Navi 31. Thankfully, FPS Review has answered such pressing questions and posted the results.
Their tests, done on ASUS’ X670 board and Ryzen 9 7900X, showed improvements almost across the board with SAM enabled, with the exception of ray-traced games like Cyberpunk and Metro Exodus. . In those two games, the improvement was barely measurable, but smart access memory didn’t hurt performance.
Improvements are seen across all resolutions, with the most impressive usually being 4K with FSR/FSR2 enabled.
