Microsoft Claims Hololens Is Doing Great Actually And Is Critical To Its Metaverse Plan

Hololens is actually great metaverse news
Last week, we wrote about reports that Microsoft recently abandoned plans for a device that was supposed to launch as the HoloLens 3, according to three insiders. However, these insider claims go against his official Microsoft message about the HoloLens.

Without saying anything specific about HoloLens 3, Microsoft spokesperson Frank Shaw said that HoloLens is ” [the company’s] We have plans for new categories such as Mixed Reality and the Metaverse,” he said, adding, “We remain committed to HoloLens and future HoloLens development.”

Since then, Microsoft has emphasized the importance of the metaverse to its vision for the future. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has claimed that the Metaverse is one of the main reasons the company decided to acquire Activision-Blizzard. According to Nadella, “Being good at building games is [Microsoft] Permission to build this next platform, which is essentially the next internet. ”

Hololens actually builds a great metaverse 2 news
If Microsoft intends to build a Metaverse platform that will be the “next Internet”, some of you may want to continue with the HoloLens project as part of that platform. HoloLens lead developer Alex Kipman lends credence to the hunch that Microsoft isn’t killing HoloLens. saying on twitter Don’t believe what you read on the internet about Microsoft dropping plans for the HoloLens 3.

Kipman points out that similar reports of HoloLens 2 deaths are grossly exaggerated. After all, Microsoft ended up announcing and shipping his HoloLens 2.

That said, the HoloLens 2 rumors seemed to have some merit. As we reported at the time, Microsoft was rumored to have skipped its 2nd generation plans for the headset in favor of developing a 3rd generation rather than killing off his HoloLens. The expected launch date for this 3rd generation headset is 2019, and in 2019 he got a HoloLens 2.

Supposedly, insider reports that Microsoft has scrapped plans for a device that would have been released as HoloLens 3 mean that Microsoft is about to start over to develop new plans for HoloLens 3. It’s just that. Considering the company’s history of skipping HoloLens development and HoloLens internal plans, this interpretation may not be a bad one.
