Price – stop complaining
Although it ended up being $100 cheaper than expected, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti’s $799 price tag will still piss off a lot of people. The previous generation he has xx70 cards with a higher price tag than xx80 cards and it (apparently) doesn’t matter what the performance is. People will still resent this.
We can theoretically say that once the RTX 4060/4060 Ti cards become available (hopefully in the sub-$500 segment), we could end up with the RTX 30 series. Run the new part. The $699+ RTX 3080 is useless, but who knows what the price will be if the market votes against the status quo.
But I’m getting more and more fed up with complaints about current-gen pricing: AMD sold the flagship Radeon RX 5700 XT for just $399 a few years ago, while the GTX 1080 Ti was $699. . I remember those days too. However, unless Intel’s upcoming GPU hits hard or AMD decides to start a price war, we don’t expect prices to drop anytime soon.
We might be able to accept that high-end GPUs are now (as they used to be) an expensive niche product and the days of $699 flagships are over. I keep learning every time I go shopping for something, so things are more expensive now than they used to be. If expensive computer add-in boards are not selling, a decision must be made about their price and the economic viability of continuing to produce them.
Enough about the pricing. It’s a hassle to pay more for things. Whenever I need to fix something around the house, everything at the home improvement store is double what he paid last time. No one wants to hear me complain about the cost of PVC pipe and wire, but I have begun to accept that the purchasing power of a dollar is about half what it used to be.
