Samsung Display demonstrated a smartphone OLED panel that achieved over 2,000 nits of peak brightness at CES 2023. The UDR (Ultra Dynamic Range) 2,000 Luminance Mark is certified by UL Solutions and represents the pinnacle of Samsung’s mobile display technology. The peak brightness values also match the newly announced S95C and S90C quantum dot OLED TVs.

Samsung Display has also secured a UDR 1,500 nits brightness rating on the new panel. Samsung claims that his new UDR panels show more lifelike and richer colors that are especially noticeable for outdoor use.
It remains to be seen which Samsung phone will debut the new UDR smartphone display, but it’s likely to be the upcoming Galaxy S23 series.Samsung Display has already supplied OLED panels for Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro series. and its iPhone 14 Pro series boasts peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits for HDR content.
