Update Jan 5, 2023, 4:30 PM ET: Twitch reports that the site is being processed. recoveryHowever, some users are still experiencing issues.

Popular live-streaming service Twitch is experiencing its second outage this week. Around 3pm on Thursday, many creators who were live on Twitch had their streams cut off.

“We are aware of the site issue and our team is actively working to resolve it” Twitch Support murmured“Thank you for reporting it. Please be patient while we work on it. We’ll keep you updated here.”

Throughout the incident, Twitch’s status page indicated all systems were working.

Not all streamers were affected, and some were able to resume their streams within about 20 minutes of the outage. However, the timing of these issues caused frustration among fans.

Just two days ago, on January 3rd, it appeared that Twitch had taken a temporary hiatus and some creators had deleted their accounts. This was due to Twitch having issues loading channels you followed on both desktop and mobile.

Twitch confirmed on its status page that the outage “may manifest in the form of chat not working, login difficulties, search functionality being compromised, etc.”

At the time of publication, some affected creators appear to be rebooting their streams, though Twitch has not indicated through Twitter or its website that Thursday’s issue has been fully resolved. .

Twitch did not immediately respond to comments about what caused these issues.
