A 58-year-old Laona man faces criminal charges following an investigation into internet crimes against children, according to a news release from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department.
Paul J. Johnson was arrested on January 5 by Oneida County officials with the assistance of the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office and the Rhinelander Police Department. He is charged with using a computer to facilitate child sex crimes, child seduction, and attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 16.
The indictment has been referred to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office. Johnson, who remains in custody, is scheduled to appear in court on Friday for his first court appearance.
